Current Fave’s Round-up

I’ve put together some inspiration of my spring/summer current faves. Here’s a round up of my top looks for this season!

1: Berets paired with summer dresses

If you have been following me on social then you know I’m beret obsessed! Nothing beats a beret, it gives off that chic look to pretty much any outfit! Actually for me it completes the outfit. I just love the way these gals have paired the notoriously winter hat for the summer. So dont pack your wool berets just yet, you can still rock them for another season!!

2 broderie anglaise, ruffles, and lace up

Im a complete sucker for ruffles, broderie anglaise, and lace up. I recently received a dress by Tobi (HERE) which reminds me of these above photos. I need to up my tanning game as currently I am as white as these crisp fabrics. The bronzed look and these feminine beauties, make me go gaga!

3: Mid length skirts

Ive never been a big fan of midi, but this season I’ll be adding a few of these babies into my wardrobe! Jeanne Damas is always the inspo. She wears them so good, and I love how she paired her midi skirt with a tight cardi… (buying now!)

4 Straw Hats

Nothing says “Summer” like a straw hat. Im a mega hat person, and actually feel much better when I have something on my head! I’ve found a few seriously cute options which I’ve linked below.

5: Button down tops

Here’s a spring/summer wardrobe staple. I LOVE big buttons right now, they give that ‘Extra’ to that basic top! Again, can we just look at that bronzed tan… Honestly If I get one of those this summer it will be a miracle. If your a city Mom, without a garden, and have a wild 4 year old you will understand! *Brings out the fake tan*

6: Cherry everything

As far back as I can remember I’ve been a sucker for cherries! I can remember my first day at 8th grade I wore a Forever 21 tight top with ruched shoulders and cherries. I still think about that top, and wish I still had it. So glad to see cherries in the stores right now, and hoping ill find my replica 8th grade top! BTW & other stories has a blouse just like this one!

Denim Kimono

‘Gabrielle wears denim in double denim’!  Dontcha think this is a very fitting outfit post for my Blog?!

I recently got hold of this kimono style jacket from And Other Stories ( A store which I adore BTW). The wide sleeves and belt just sold me right away! I couldnt wait to get my hands on it! A few weeks back I saw Matilda Djerf wearing one similar and it inspired me so much.

I feel like this Denim Kimono will go with so much, and it’s the perfect lightweight wardrobe staple  to transition into next season! So if you’re looking for your ‘coming into spring’ lightweight jacket, I give this one a thumbs up!
I wore it with a classic pair of high waist jeans, an over-sized sweater, boots, and of course a beret!!
Below I’ve made a list of my favorite Kimono Denim Jackets for you to shop

The Iconic Jumpsuit

Starburst ring by Dose of Rose / Signet ring by Shami Official

Meet one of my favourite pieces of style- the iconic Jumpsuit!

There’s no item of clothing that has encapsulated the words fun, cool, chic and timeless as the Jumpsuit has!

Over the years it found its way from its original intent in 1919 as a garment to be worn while parachuting out of planes, (hence the name ‘jumpsuit’ ) and soon after they were called ‘coveralls’- as seen on aviators (Let’s think Amelia Earhart). Evolving, with the slightest push of elegance, the jumpsuit morphed into ‘lounging pyjamas’ which were worn on yachts, on the beach and at home entertaining. Oh! , and now the latest occasion the Jumpsuit has commandeered, think about that killer Jumpsuit for a moment Solange Knowles down the aisle for her wedding! Looks like the humble parachute jump wear is continuing to evolve!

These days all of the above occasions apply and they are a wonderful easy ‘no think’ option to wear alone or with a simple top. Slip it on and go- its like no fuss wear,

No tugging, no tucking, no adjusting, dreamy!

The one I’m wearing is the Vedette Scalloped Vedette Chino Jumpsuit by Anthropologie. I especially love the large belt tie and wide leg!

I’ve scoured the World Wide Web to find you a fab selection of jumpsuits, here are my faves!

Summit Blue

Winters arrival signals the start of turtle necks! I wear them over a thin layer, under absolutely everything and in all colours. At the moment it’s so cold, and as I write I actually see snowflakes falling outside my window!  I honestly only want to wear my duvet!, but that’s not going to happen so next best I’ll go for the softest,  finest,  warmest , cosiest  Merino wool roll neck jumper from John Smedley. I’m really loving this baby blue colour at the moment and it goes so well with black – actually what doesn’t go well with black?

Maybe a skirt wasn’t the best idea for today’s weather, but I do love a longer midi denim skirt especially for the winter months. This ripped one from Zara came with a cute matching denim belt.
With sock boots and messy hair and voila, there it is, my OOTD!
